According to a report, Apple's 27-inch iMac is facing
shipment delays as Apple's main iMac panel supplier LG
has trouble with the production.
The report quotes industry sources as saying that the LG
Display has reportedly been facing full lamination issues
while producing the panels, slowing down shipments of
the 27-inch device to 100,000 units a month,
According to Apple's online store, the 27-inch iMac is
expected to ship in 3-4 weeks, which is much longer
when compared to the 21.5-inch iMacs, which are
available to ship in 7-10 business days.
Apple had launched the newer, slimmer versions of the
iMac in October last year, at the same event where the
iPad mini was launched. The new iMac is only 5 mm thick
at the edges and is 40 percent thinner than the previous
versions.
The 27-inch version has a screen resolution of 2,560
1,440 pixels and the 21.5 inch version has a screen
resolution of 1,920 1,080 pixels.
